Fiemme World Cup O.C., leader in high-level competitions
World Cup season throughout four countries
Val di Fiemme is once again the land of cross-country skiing and roller ski. Fiemme World Cup O.C., after organising the Pre-World Championships in 2014, the World Championships in 2015, the Guide World Classic Tour Final Stages in 2017 and 2018, the World Cup Final Stages in 2018 and 2019 and the World Championships in 2021, is back with a new international event.
From September 8th to 10th, the wonderful Italian location hosts an exciting sport weekend with the World Cup Final Stages, for three unforgettable days in the welcoming Val di Fiemme, queen of either tough winter or summer sports.
The first competition takes place on September 8th, a Mass Start in Ziano di Fiemme along 10 km for Junior and Senior women and 15 km for Junior and Senior men. On Saturday 9th, it is time for the FT 200 mt Sprint, yet the climax is on Saturday 10th: a CT Mass Start Uphill taking athletes up to Alpe Cermis, along 11 km for women and 15 km for men.
FIS recently confirmed the official World Cup calendar for the upcoming season: the World Cup is crossing throughout 4 countries, starting from Kazakistan (13-15 July), then Estonia (10-13 August), Latvia (18-20 August), finally ending in Val di Fiemme, Italy (8-10 September).
Moreover, during the FIS Spring meeting in Croatia, FIS decided that, starting from the next season (2024), men and women distances will be equalised, as happened for cross-country skiing.
The expert organising committee Fiemme World Cup, captained by the president Bruno Felicetti, is already working for this new exciting and high-level event, after the last Tour de Ski. It should be underlined the great effort of the committee itself helping organising the World Cup in Rieti last September, showing once again its long experience and professionality.
Roller ski season has yet to start, but Val di Fiemme is already looking forward to September and to the new Tour de Ski edition on January 2024.
